Registration stores your name, username, email, affiliation, country, career status, homepage, default category, and the archives you expect to submit to. That record stays with the account so submitted papers can be traced to one person.

You can browse, search, and read announced papers without an account. Email is used to verify the address and to send submission notices. It is not shown on the public abstract page.
